Had a speeding fine?
Very handy site to find out.
Road Traffic Speed Camera's. Following the Governments Freedom Of Information act you can now get access to speed camera offences registered in the last 12 months. Did you know that every time your car goes past a speed camera, even 1mph over the speed limit, it is registered and put on a data base???
You only get a ticket if you are way over the limit or, (this is the bit we didn't know) if you receive 20 near misses you will be classed as a serial offender and receive a ticket the next time you go over the limit even by 1mph!!!
This is why you hear of people being fined for doing 34mph in a 30mph limit whereas some doing 39 get off Scott free.
You can check if there is anything against your vehicle on the following link http://www.e-database.co.uk
You will be asked for a password but just click on the need password link which you can use for future reference. If there is any data on your vehicle you can click on the camera link to see a photo.
This could be useful if you challenge any charges.

by askingquestions ini don't know too much about freemasons but i have a friend who belongs to them and says that they are religious people of different denominations and the do good.
i don't see exactly what it is that they do....but i get the distinct feeling that it's not right.

Welcome askingquestions.
There have been quite a few forum topics and discussions on the connection between jw's and Freemasons so it might be worth having a trawl through previous posts.
I tried to look for one to post a link for you but couldn't find them, but they are on here.

New here - wanted to get this off my chest
by Thrall inlong time lurker, first time poster.. .
rather than just posting a no-content hello post, i wanted to share my story.
this gets long, but consider it a form of self-therapy or something :) .

Welcome Thrall. Its funny how you read in the Watchtower about brothers being persecuted for not doing military service and the jw's persecute you for doing it!
I look forward to reading your posts.
Mark.

Best, worst and weirdest assembly halls...
by Jamelle ina recent thread about the experience of attending the 1969 convention as a young child really started me thinking.
i have several fuzzy memories of assemblies i attended as very young child.
this got me onto the track of the rather odd, uncomfortable or even really cool buildings i have visited over the years as a result of those conventions.. so my questions to everyone are:.

Twickenham rugby football ground, just outside London, was good as it was under the flight path of Heathrow airport so they used to fly really low. I can remember when I was young trying to see the tail flag of each plane to see where it had come from/going to and getting a cuff round the ear regularly for not paying attention to the speaker. When Concorde went over the speaker always stopped as you couldn't hear a word he was saying! In my last year I was an attendant so I could spend the whole day wondering up and down the concourse without having to look up one damn scripture! That was the best year.
